The Programs Are Divided Between Electives and Athletics

Electives

Academic Essentials: Scholars get homework help and learn academic strategies that support learning in the classroom.

Vocal Music (choir): Join the ensemble of voices to learn songs from a variety of genres and artists and we will provide the opportunity for performance. Great for singers at all skill levels. Build confidence and technique and celebrate the love of singing!

Visual Art: This club is designed for scholars to explore and develop their creative and artistic skills while exploring different mediums/aspects of art and design. Finished works of art will be highlighted during the year and part of our larger culminating art gallery exhibition. This class is more advanced than the elementary class and will delve deeper into art concepts.

Cub Scouting (co-ed): Cub Scouts is structured around earning badges and badges activities are centered around earning badges that are specific to each school grade level. Each badge represents a rank. Based on different topics such as hiking, nature, science, citizenship, first aid, sports, and more, adventures are earned as a Cub Scout advances toward their badge of rank. Once an adventure is completed, a Cub Scout receives recognition in the form of an adventure loop or adventure pin.

Robotics / Programming: Scholars will develop and program robots that can compete against opponents in a series of specific challenges. Robots encourage problem-solving, creative thinking, and a healthy sense of competition that drives innovation from students. As students improve with robotics and programming, they learn determination, perseverance, and how to plan and process with technology. These are critical learning skills needed to push students to be globally competitive and entrepreneurial. Robotics showcases will happen each semester.

Science Club: A meeting of scientific minds to explore how things work in physical and life science realms. This club gives students a basic framework to be ready to be a future Science Olympiad competitor.

Video Production / Design: Students will learn to use video recording equipment and editing software to produce in house video productions of campus newsworthy happenings.

Girl Scouts: The five essential skills girls learn through the cookie program are goal setting, money management, people skills, decision making, and business ethics. Girl Scouts contributes to girls' academic success by helping them develop important leadership skills, such as resourceful problem solving and challenge seeking. Additional activities in Girl Scouts include activities outdoors and community service projects. Girls learn to become leaders, while building courage, confidence and character. *uniform fees may apply.

Dream Starters: Is a creative arts-based program, offered through Brandon House Cultural and Performing Arts Center, that exposes students to arts-infused learning experiences to improve writing, reading comprehension, verbal expression, science, and math. Activities in Dream Starters include Talent/Fashion Shows, Music Production Projects, Theatrical Stage Plays, Literary Arts competitions, Arts-Based Field Trips, and Hispanic/Black History Events.
